Working with EdgingTo turn the edging function on or off, go to the "Preferences" page and select the "Edging Function On/Off" button. Once the function is enabled, some other components become visible. The field "Edgebander wastage" allows a size to be entered that the edgebander wastes each edge it applies. Typically this is about 25mm or 1 inch. By entering a figure in this field, it allows CabinetCut to calculate the total length of edging required on the job, including wastage. The buttons "Use Panel Size as Entered" or "Deduct Edge Thickness from Entered Panel Size" allow for 2 different ways to use the function. With the "Panel Sizes as Entered" function selected, panels are entered as normal, but there is a new row of checkboxes to select which sides of the panel are edged. The easiest way to navigate is to tab through the fields, and use the spacebar to check the checkbox. If the "All" checkbox is selected, the next tab enters the panel and returns the focus to the begining for the next panel. If the "All" checkbox is blank, you tab through H, W, H and W before the panel is entered and the focus returns to the begining. With the "Deduct Edge Thickness" function selected, a new field is available to enter the thickness of the edge. Note also that the entries on the table now have extra columns, to allow for Cut Sizes and Finish Sizes. This data is now available to be printed onto labels.
